Diplomate status in GAOI^® is bestowed upon those select individuals who not only possess excellent clinical skills and knowledge of implant dentistry but also demonstrate extraordinary leadership qualities that help advance the cause of propagation of grassroots implant education and service for the profession and humanity.

The candidate for Diplomate status is nominated by one and voted on by at least 3 members of the Board of Academy of Oral Implantology. The reason for induction of individuals into the Diplomate status is spelled out on the timeless and prestigious wall certificate.
